Iko is a asphalt shingle manufacturer. With plants all over North America and Europe, Iko has become a leader in shingle manufacturing. Their three main products consist of premium designer shingles, architectural shingles and traditional 3-tab shingles. Let me briefly describe the differences between their different types of shingles. If you have specific questions you can ask your roofer Canberra specialist.
Premium Designer Shingles
This type of shingle is Iko’s top of the line model. The 4 types of Premium Designer shingles are the Armourshake, Crown Slate, Grandeur SBS and Royal Estate. They all have Class A fire resistance rating, are very durable and require very little maintenance. The selling point of Iko’s designer shingles is their appearance. Each model gives off a different kind of look.
Armourshake: The Amourshake shingles has a natural wood look. You get a cedar shake design with a longer life, fire resistance and less maintenance.
Crown Slate: The Crown Slate shingle will give your house an ideal slate roof look. Each piece has a unique look with very little blending and can have a similar color to your local stone.
Grandeur SBS: This shingle is similar to Iko’s Cambridge architectural shingles however they have been manufactured with additional durability. They are rated Class 4 impact resistant. This allows them to protect your home from hail and extreme weather.
Royal Estate: The Royal Estate shingle are one of the easiest of the Iko shingles to install. They are designed to mimic real slate yet are much more affordable. A range of color variations can be made into a subtle or bold color look.
Iko’s has one type of architectural shingle, the Cambridge AR. This shingle comes in a wide range of colors. Super White, Natural Blue, Vintage Green, Riviera Red, Earthtone Cedar, Aged Redwood, Driftwood, Dual Grey and Harvard Slate are one a few of the color options. It has an age-defying style. You can either get a historic look or a contemporary look with these architectural shingles. Given their heavy weight, they are durable, weather resistant and are resistant against winds of up to 130 mph.
Traditional 3-Tab Shingles
Iko has two types of traditional 3-tab shingles, the Marathon 25 AR and the Marathon Ultra AR. These traditional 3-tab shingles are known for their excellent quality and good value. Given their reliability, they are very reasonably priced. Each shingle is consistent in size, shape, color and quality since they are manufactured using Iko’s computer technology. The Marathon Ultra AR are a little more expensive but Energy Star qualified and slightly more durable than the Marathon 25 AR. These two types of shingles also come in a wide range of colors.
